Child Health Nursing focuses on nursing care of children, both normal and sick. The objective of the course is to prepare students to identify the normal growth and development of children and deviation from the normal, give comprehensive nursing care to children. Knowledge and skill of the students are enhanced through theory classes, facilitated clinical experience in pediatric medical, surgical wards, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, OPD including Child Guidance and Rehabilitation center, crèche and field visits.
College of Nursing, PIMS offers B.Sc(N) , Post Basic B.Sc (N) and post graduation in Child Health Nursing which prepares the students to develop expertise and in-depth understanding in the field of Child Health Nursing. It helps students to appreciate the child as a holistic individual and develop skill to function as neonatal and pediatric nurse specialist. In order to, enable the student for future educator, manager, and researcher in the field of Child Health Nursing.
To facilitate, quality education, competent nurses in care of children and develop a research cell for ongoing research to improve patient care and nursing education.
To provide skill oriented professional education with ethical values, character building incorporating the current policies and technologies at national and International level.
We, the faculty of child Health nursing department believe that, child health nursing is service rendered by professional nurses with knowledge, skill and attitude based on art and scientific knowledge to help the children, family and community in the prevention of diseases, preservation and restoration of halth and rehabilitation related to child care.
