Observational Visit

Baccalaureate Service – 2012
Baccalaureate service 2012 was held on 6.3.14 for the Graduating batch
2007 - 11 batch. Dr. JebaRaj Samuel, Director of Mission and Evangelism,
CSI Diocese of Madras gave the Message.

Graduation 2013
Graduation Ceremony was conducted on 7.3.14 for 2008-12 batch of BSc
Nursing students. Prof.Jeyarani Premkumar, Nsg Superintendent,CMC,
Vellore was the Chief Guest.

Visiting students
Around 41 Students B. Sc & P.B.Bsc Nsg students from Venkateswara
College of Nursing visited PIMS on 9.3.13 to learn about organization &
infrastructure of CON,PIMS

AURA - 2013
AURA 2013 was conducted in PIMS from 13.3.13
to 16.3.13. Nursing students actively participated in all the events.

Inspection
Pondicherry University inspection was held to
assess the infrastructure & faculty details on 20.3.13

World TB day
World TB day was celebrated by college of Nursing on 22.3.13 based on
the theme Stop TB in my life. Our students actively participated in
poster competition.

APRIL |
NSS Camp
NSS camp was conducted at Alankupam on TB control from
1.4.13 to7.4.13. Around 50 students actively
participated in the programme. Mrs.Maliga Rajadurai
acting Dean inaugurated the programme. Programme co-ordinator,
faculty and students of College of Nursing attended the
programme. |
Retreat
Retreat was organized for 2010-11 batch final year B.Sc
(N) students on 6.4.13 at Transworld Radio Center,
Paramenkeni. |
WHO Day celebration
College of Nursing celebrated WHO day on
8.4.13 based on the theme High Blood Pressure. All faculty & students
actively participated.

Visiting Students
Around 23 B.Sc(N) final year students from St. Pauls College of Nursing
visited PIMS CON on 12.4.13 to learn about Organizational pattern &
Philosophy.

Workshop
Workshop on research methodology was conducted on 26.4.13. All Faculty &
Msc(N) students participated in the programme

JUNE |
Inspection
TNNMC inspection was held on 5.6.13 for the continuation of B.Sc(N)
programme and to start M.Sc(N) and PBBSC Nursing programme.

Thanks Giving & Welcome Programme
Thanks giving & Welcome Programme was conducted on 7.6.13 for former
Director - Principal Dr. James . J. Gnanadoss and welcome to new
Director-Principal Dr. John Abraham.

JULY |
International Conference
An International Conference on ‘Epidemiological Research For Advanced
Nursing Practice- A Global Health Scenario’ was organized by College Of
Nursing on 26th & 27th July 2013(2 days). Resource Persons Were from UK,
Oman,Maldives, WHO,NewDelhi. Around 531 delegates participated in the
conference. Dr.Aravind Mathur, Medical officer from WHO, regional office
Delhi was the chief guest.

AUGUST |
Admission - 2013
Around 11 Msc Nursing students, 4PPBSC Nursing students, 60BSC Nursing
students of 2013-14 batch were admitted .

Faculty study Leave
1 Faculty is in study leave and joined M.Sc(N) in PIMS

Breast Feeding Week
The students of SNA unit actively participated
in Breast feeding week celebration. Communal Harmony Mass education on
Communal Harmony was conducted on World Communal Day celebration at
Kodur village.

OCTOBER |
State SNA Conference
Students participated in the State SNA conference at Erode in October
2013 and Ms.Shanmuga Priya got third place in Rangoli competition and
was selected to participate at National level SNA Conference at Gujarat
in November 2013.

Red Ribbion Club NACO.-
THE RED RIBBON CLUB: In October 2013 AIDS
awareness and Blood Donation Awareness programme was conducted at
Community College. During September- October 2013 two students attended
Youth exchange programme at Arunachal Pradesh and one student attended
the Leadership Convention at Annamali University

Visiting Students
Students from Chatisgarh, JIPMER, Omayalachi college of Nursing visited
our college during October 2013.

Symposium
Symposium on ‘Critical Care Nursing’ was organized on 26.10.13 by
College Of Nursing in coordination with Department of Anesthesiology

1st year B.Sc.(N) students had Community Orientation Programme at
Karasur Village from 11.11.2013 to 18.11.2013.

Adoption of Village for Community services
Community Health Nursing Department adopted Sethurapet and is providing
services like regular home visits and referral services.
